Announcement: The 2020 Tri-City Construction Council Scholarship Winners Announced Within!

The Tri-City Construction Council Scholarship Committee has chosen the following applicants to receive a $2,000 scholarship. Congratulations!

There were a record number of applicants this year making the selection process very difficult. An official letter has been e-mailed to all applicants.

Our annual golf tournament is typically how we raise money for the Scholarship Program, but it was cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to the donations from a generous group of companies though, these scholarships will still be fully funded, even during these unprecedented times!

PLEASE NOTE: The Scholarship Committee waived the requirement of providing an official transcript. Letters of recommendations also did not require signatures. These changes were in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Important Announcement: Tri-City Construction Council Office is Closed. Print Order Service Hours Within!

The Tri-City Construction Council office is currently closed to the public per the Governor of Washington’s Stay Home – Stay Healthy?mandate. In these unprecedented?times, we are taking action to protect the health of our staff and the community, while also adapting to ways that we can still serve our valued?membership.

TCCC staff is working remotely from home and will continue to serve your needs and answer your concerns as we currently do. For the time being, phone service may be limited, so if you have a question or need help, please contact us via info@tcplancenter.com?and your request will be forwarded to the appropriate person. We will reply as?soon as we can.

Printing services will continue to be offered but will no longer be printed immediately upon receipt.

  • Yakima Plan Center Printing Hours – Monday to Thursday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Hermiston Plan Center Printing Hours – Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

During the pick-up window, please remember to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet and?wait outside if someone else is picking up prints when you arrive.

Announcement: The 23rd Annual TCCC Golf Tournament is Cancelled!

The 23rd Tri-City Construction Council Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament has been cancelled.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the TCCC board of directors voted to cancel the event. We understand that this cancellation will be a disappointment for many that participate in and sponsor this wildly popular event, but your understanding during these circumstances is sincerely appreciated. I know we all look forward to the time we can get back to a sense of normalcy in our community.

Over the past 22 years, $132,000 in scholarship money has been provided to deserving students. For those that have the means to donate their team entry and/or hole sponsorship fees, please consider helping to fund this year’s scholarships. We will be launching a new landing page on our website for the golf tournament, where we will advertise your company name and logo to thank you for your donation.

Donations still provide your company an opportunity to promote your business on our website.

Announcement: New State Law Requires L&I Training Before Bidding on Public Works Projects

Beginning July 1, 2019, all businesses are required to have training before bidding and/or performing work on public works projects. In 2018, the legislature passed ESSHB 1673 (app.leg.wa.gov) adding this training requirement to the responsible bidder criteria in RCW 39.04.350?and RCW 39.06.020?(app.leg.wa.gov).

Note: You may continue working on a public works project that starts before July 1, 2019, and continues on or after July 1 without needing to meet this training requirement.

Verify who needs training

Use the Verify a Contractor tool to verify the training status for your company or other businesses. For projects starting on or after July 1, 2019, contractors and awarding agencies need to add this training requirement to the items you use to verify a business is responsible before hiring and working on public works projects.

Who’s exempt?

You are exempt from this training requirement if you’ve been in business with an active Unified Business Identifier (UBI) number for 3 or more years AND have performed work on 3 or more public works projects.

Now available! Businesses can now access online training through your Prevailing Wage Intent and Affidavit portal. Take this training at your own pace during any time of the day! Once completed, you’ll meet this new requirement. Learn more about how to access this training.


Check out L&I’s Contractor Training Days held around the state to sign up and attend our in-person, 3-hour training class. Sign up early as classes and registrations are limited.

Bidding on public works projects

You’ll need to ensure you meet this training requirement before submitting a bid on or after July 1, 2019, for public works projects. Awarding agencies will be required to verify all contractors submitting bids meet this new requirement before awarding the contract.
